I just got off the phone with Qwest. I spent a good half hour trying to explain the situation to a representative, and then got frustrated with them, so I posted it here. Then I called back to have them visit this page.

3 hours later:
Well, I’m not counting the automated systems that took me 8 minutes to navigate, so we’ll say 2 hours 52 minutes. I have been transferred from the first level of support, which shall henceforth be called: “I don’t know what the hell I’m doing” to a supervisor because he can’t view the site.

Ahh, a supervisor – someone who has the power to… Wait… What exactly did he do for me? Nothing. I spent about two minutes repeating the same information I’ve already stated 7 times previously, and then he put me on hold to talk with someone in IT.

After waiting on hold with him for another 20 minutes or so, He informed me that his IT department couldn’t view the site either. THAT’S A LOAD OF BULLCRAP!!

No IT department worth even a seventeenth of it’s paycheck would remove their own privileges. Why? Because most of the time, if there is a serious issue, you have to RESEARCH IT.

I asked him where he was. The Philippines. Excellent. (I have nothing against outsourcing, but they usually skimp on the necessary training.) I asked for him to transfer me to someone in the states. 10 minutes later:

Voila! And he could access the site with no issues. Ain’t that something?

Now, I have him read this. Then he tried to assure me that it couldn’t be an issue with the network.

OK – he obviously didn’t read where I stated that this issue has been tested with 3 separate computers, on multiple occasions,when they were directly connected to the modem via the ethernet port. And he most certainly didn’t hear me when I told him the modem had already been exchanged.

So I re-state it for him, and have him re-read the information. I point out where it says this. Here I am, thinking: Finally, someone that is competent, and understands that once you’ve eliminated the network (hence the direct connections), and eliminated the hardware (hence the testing with all computers, directly connecting them to the modem and nixing the router), that it would leave an issue with the network.

Nope. Genius-boy still swears that it’s the hardware (my computers, obviously. We already eliminated the network by removing the router and directly connecting them to the modem.)

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW IT IS A HARDWARE ISSUE??!!!?!?!?

We’ve eliminated (My Computer), (Router), and (Modem). What does this leave?
